So this is awfully annoying. What can I use to grease the inlet or inside of the tube that is aquarium safe because I can get this thing on about 1" and then it goes nowhere. I can't even get it off as a matter of fact :-D
OK fine, I used a bit of KY and it worked on the outlet. How can I get this damn tube off the inlet though so I can grease it? Or how far does it really have to go on? Its an XP4 and the tube is just past the 3 'ridges' on the inlet tube.
get a mug of hot water. Pour it over the hose. You should be able to work it the rest of the way up or you can take it off and use a little vaseline. Never used ky for that lol, you did use the water based regular stuff not the silicone base or flavored?
Yep, water based and I threw in a pouch of activated carbon as well to be on the safe side. It worked just fine Although I do feel a bit silly having an AC110 and an XP4 for a 75 gallon tank with all small community fish, but hey, these are all pretty much the first fish I ever got so I couldn't just get rid of them all when I wanted to get some bigger ones
