im buying a chinese perch tommorow they finally got 1 in for me,its 2-4"
its gonna grow fast in my 80F tank :D il post pictures when i get

It'll probably be fine, but I'd lower the temperature to 78F-75F

how come? i want it to grow fast and eat alot,78-75 would be cold for my bichirs, gars, aros

Chinese Perch tend to like it on the cooler side. 80F will be fine as well, but they I had one that I kept at 80F-82F. I found out that they do better in cooler temperature so I removed my heater which lowered it to 75F-78F and it was more active. It's appetite was always voracious regardless. I never got it off live feeders. It's one of the hardest fish I've ever tried getting off live food.

IME it's better to keep them in cooler water when they're young, then raise it slowly if you have to. I don't see a need to keep it at 80 all the time. I've never had to for any of my fish.

BTW. the CP should eat a lot regardless of temp. 78 isn't too cold for your other fish, but it is in the lower range of their preferred temp. i'd assume anywhere between 78 and 82 would work for your fish.

ok thx my fish can resist 78 i know

Good luck on the grow out
