I got a piece of driftwood about a month ago that was 30X12X22. I really like the peice and have been soaking it for the whole month with a few water changes here and there. I took the weights off (it was fully submerged), and it still floats. I want to put it in my tank soon but i need it to sink.

Anyone have any ideas how to do it?

Put the weights back on and try to soak it some more in boiling water or close to boiling water. I hope it's a hard wood because if it isn't then it might not sink.

Yeah im not sure if its hard wood or not, i just found it. How do you go about boiling something that large?

Slate isnt a bad idea, idk how well the screws will stay in the wood

What i used to do with wood before it would completely sink is to get some fishing string or something similar and tie some sort of weight (either slate, rock etc) to the bottom of the wood to hold it down till it stayed down on its own... longest i had to wait for any given piece was i think almost 2 months before it was completely soaked through...
