im going to catch some feeder guppies at the canal but im wondering how should i transfer them to a cleaner water tank because at the canal its like a lake. do i just throw them in a tank or i acclimate them slowly. i know i will quaritine them before i feed them but how should i do this?

I wouldn't use live foods in general for many reasons, one is introduction of pathogens. Doing this with wild caught fish will almost guarantee you give something to your fish.

Very very risky.
As stated, before, live food is not often suggested (maybe as a treat or something)
but catching wild caught live food is even more risky.
Best bet would be to breed your own feeders if you must go that route.
What are you feeding them to? Odds are the fish will take pellets instead in time.

First: I don't know about hawaii waters but here in the mainland its not recomended as always wc fish have something or multiple things going on with them.

Second: think its time consuming/costly (treatments involved) to do QTs

Hawaii is a different world though so I don't really know the answer tho.
