whats the best way to do this, bought a gt pair on the w/e and all i can get them to eat at the moment is live food, which is a b*tch coz i want to try get the male to colour up a bit, if i cant get them to eat frozen/pellets i guess i will just sell them on....

theres a lot of topics here in our forum that will answer your problem, just key in some keywords on our search bar

I would starve them for 4-7 days, then feed them pellets.

If that doesnt work, stuff pellets into thier live food, then wean them onto the taste of pellets.

if you don't give them food for 2 or 3 days, then add pellets, it will help. Keep up with only pellets, and they will gladly accept them. Also, if you have an oscar, they eat pellets so readily that they can teach other fish to eat them as well.

I've never heard of GTs refusing non-live food. Seriously starve them for a week. I gaurentee they will eat anything at that point. The behavior is learned I'm sure...shame on whoever had them before you and was probably keeping them on an all-feeder diet!

do a search, theres tons of information on this forum alone about it.
but can always starve them till they eat what you want. or work your way into frozen and crumbles, then flakes

Good luck with your ordeal. My fishes has been starving for two months and they are still not taking pellets. I think they would rather die than eat pellets

My suggestion would be fresh market shrimp. Then market shrimp in frozen cube form with spirulina or flake. Then lessen the shrimp and start towards flake/pellet etc.
