My smaller female convict in my other tank will eat anything that hits then water, so no problem with her. But in my 40 breeder I have a 5 inch male con that really doesn't like NLS. I bought floating NLS pellts and tried them, he just takes them in his mouth and spits them back out.

What should I do to get him to eat them? I really don't want to starve him too long as he'll probably go after the tiger barbs I have with him. Should I just keep adding NLS until he gets hungry enough to eat it? The tiger barbs are not picky eaters- they eat virtually anything that can fit in their mouths, and if it can't, they keep chewing it until it's small enough!

Yes, eventually he will come around and munch, he can go weeks without food so no worries, just make sure not to overfeed any of ur fish, its the most common form of death in fish!

Yea, thats essentially what I thought. Just keep putting NLS in the tank and when he gets hungry enough, he will eat. I do have 9 tiger barbs and a large rainbow shark with him. My only fear is that he'll tear into them if he's hungry, but you'd think if he constantly sees them eat the NLS, that he eventually will.

Maybe he does but u don't see him eat? Also try at night.

What size pellets are you using?

+1 NLS is a dense food, the pellets might be to large to swallow.

Their behavior changes, some fish are different at night. Like nocturnal.
