I want my Green severum (Nip) to get along with my new true parrot (kiwi). They are both 4". When I first added Kiwi to the tank Nip scared her into a cave. I moved everything in the tank around the next day. Kiwi would come out check things out then when Nip saw her she would chase her away. They lip locked a few times mostly Nip would flare and do that side slap thing. Since kiwi was new I did not want her to get stressed so I took Nip out after about 3 days. The day I took nip out Things were ok Nip would still chase kiwi but not as bad.

SO my question since I gave Nip a "time out" do you think if I add Nip back in things will be better since Nip will now be kind for the new fish? Kiwi has now been able to adjust to the tank and feel safe exploring the other fish are not bullies. She is more out going now that Nip is not around.

Nip was always such a sweet good fish this is the first time I have seen her act like this. She was always a push over before. All my EBJD has to do is twitch at her and she moves out of his way.

What do you do to get your fish to adjust better to each other?
Should I try to put them together again in a few days?
Has a time out ever worked for anyone?

OH yeah its a 5 foot 100 gal tank with
1 Red severum 2"
1 EBJD 3"
1 hoplarchus psittacus 4" thats kiwi
3 pictus Cat

Nip is in a community 55 gal right now acting shy.

ya he his prolly a territorial fish and needs to be out of the tank and redet his territory! hell be fine or she will be fine with around a week out of the tank
