threads no typo i was thinking about my jag and saw it watching me and it looked hungery up untill know it would eat crayfish goldfish and pellets so i tossed in a little 1'' goldfish and saw it rush twords it and stop look t it then look at he surface it didn't know what was going on i added a few pellets and gone she slurped them all up in one mouth full know she only eats pellets i'm starving her know to see if i can get her to eat something else but if i can't its not a big deal right they will do fine on a good pellet right i really wan't to try to get it to eat krill to help her colors and give her a little veriety

all i ever really feed my jags on is pellets, hikari cichlid gold large pellets and newlife spectrum sinking and floating pellets, i accasoinally throw in the odd prawn or two.

Longest. Run-on. Sentence. EVAR! :)

Actually, I wouldn't try to get the fish onto live food, there's really no need. A high quality pellet with krill mixed in should do the trick.

i've had that title for a long time and am very proud of it :D if only my english teacher could see me know

but i know feeders arn't a good food source but it makes them happy and me happy i feel like it brings out the monster in them but i only feed them goldfish as a treat and after i've kept them for at least two weeks.

why not breed guppies for that??

I don't know what to say, my jag will eat pretty much anything that drops into the tank that it thinks it can get ahold of.

oh she likes crickets to but they are pretty messy so i don't feed them that often

I've been thinking about that i think i'm going to set up a couple of 5 or 10 gallons to breed feeders but i was thinking about breeding something bigger is there anything thats really eazy to breed like guppys i thought about cons jags won't mind con or firemouth fry will they but is there anything coldwater i could breed as feeders and should i try and starve her or whats the best way to get her to et other foods

so far my jag is my pickyist fish i thought it would be eazy to feed and i have southamerican leaf fish and needlefish which i've gotten both to eat prepared foods

You could try to breed some mollys or platys. They are very easy to breed like guppys and the fry grow very quick. And of course they are larger than guppys. The only way to try and get her eating other foods is starving. This isnt always 100% effective though. My jag wont eat low quality krill if his life depended on it.

i was thinking about mollys to i think i may breed them or anouther livebearer
