I've never really had luck with livebearers and overpopulation.
My main question is, how do I get them to drop fry more?
I've had times where the fish dropped a surplus of fry and then something happened causing me to lose all of them, like my limia tridens (didn't pull the fry, my fault), girardinus metallicus (a gambusia jumped into the fry box to eat all of them within minutes of me putting it in the tank), xenophallus umbratillis (power outage/oxygen depletion), endlers (accidentally pulled the fry to go outside too early in the season), and of course, guppies, the only time I had a constant supply of fry they'd just never grow and die off. I did have one time where I managed to save a batch of thirty that got dropped by the last female dumbo mosaic I had after a camallanus outbreak, but they only produced a total of 3 fry that made it to adulthood after that. Oh yeah, and if anyone remembers the rat incident, that denied me a colony of guppies too.
I only really have luck with slow growing populations, like my endlers and limia, I have a total of 3 endlers that were born for me and matured in their tank, as well as two limia and their mother, who is the last of my original group. She is huge now, and used to drop around 30 fry monthly, so I'd like to be able to get her drop 50+ again so I can repopulate my colony. Come to think of it I've always ended up with 3 of whatever livebearer I've bred, endlers, x.pygmaeus, l.tridens, dumbo mosaic guppies, g.metallicus, etc...

Most of the species you mentioned are known to spawn only small badges of fry. And it sounds to me like you did not keep them long enough to have a group big enough for regular spawns.
Age of the females can also play role since younger females often carry less fry than big mature females.

Oh yeah I expected the pygmaeus to not give me that much, but the girardinus were dropping like 20 a month. For everything except the domestic guppies I started with a group of 6-8.
Main things I want fry from are my el tigre endlers (had for around a year) and my limia tridens (had for almost a year and a half - two years now) but I will try increasing their temps.
