How many should be together because I know they shouldn't be alone. They will be in a 55 gallon until they need a larger tank with a Lutino oscar.

3 of them, or maybe 4?

The oscar is only 4 inches and the loaches I have been looking at are about 3 and a half inches

4 would work, but the more the better, it really depends on what your upgrading to, im assuming a 75 so id say 5 is a good number cuz i like odd nubers of schooling fish

I agree. I always lobby for five. But then, I'm crazy. I've got 25. :-)

I think 5 is a great number for them. now I just cannot wait till next week when it's time to move all the fish into the 55 and give it a few days and be able to get my loaches :D

But, would it be better if I got them first and put them in and then add the more aggressive fish in? I know with African cichlids it's better to add the less aggressive first but I don't know about with Oscars, Jack Dempsey and clown loaches.
