getting my clownknife to eat prepared

I've had my CK for 2 months now and he won't eat any prepared foods. How do I get him off of live feeders and onto prepared foods? I've offered him freeze dried krill, market shrimp and pellets. Any other suggestions or strategies?

Perhaps you didn't starve him enough. What was teh longest he has gone without food?

Try frozen foods first and then switch to freeze-dried and/or pellets.

i just waited a couple of days and then dropped pieces of fish,shrimp etc passed his cave and he grabbed them straight away,if you want to get him onto pellets it's easier to house him with fish that feed from the surface naturally like medium/large barbs or similar hope this helps

luck would have it...this morning he ate some market shrimp i dropped in. i have no idea why he decided to take them this time and none of the other times i have offered the same shrimp. oh well...not complaining.

I have a 17 inched CK, and all he eats is feeders. If I starve him he still won't eat other foods because it doesn't stay long enough because he's in with a 10 inch Red tail catfish that's a bottomless pit.

nice... i have got one before but he die... he become blind...
i don't now why... i'm getting trauma because of it... thats my first fish...

try beefheart, and pellets after you can get him on meats

Sorry, this is an old thread. I got him eating shrimp like crazy. Unfortunately, I had to sell him due to aggression issues with my tropical gar. Thanks for the info anyway.
