I am in the process with the great Fugupuff in ordering a 2 inch tigrinus catfish. I am told it is fed small cut up fish. I see alot of people post that Feeding Market shrimp is a danger to the younger ones. Im not trying to get into any arguements here. But I have a Large amount of Cherry Shrimp Culls - colorless, oddly colored, unwanted healthy cherry shrimp. Is cherry shrimp safe?

Tank plan 40 gallon growout
Aquaclear 110
Airbar and jehmco boxfilter

Hi tigrinus are a great fish to keep..
Iam keeping my 1st tig ryt now
I dont feed him shrimp but my other fish do and sometimes he gets little pieces.
Once due to my mistake he ate a large large amount of shrimp and started to breath heavy the next day was looking pretty bad. Now he is ok.
I dont recommend shrimp, not sure about cherry shrimp though

I'd not risk it. It's not worth it to find out. There are many feeds to offer your tig other than crustaceans. Cut fish (whole, not fillets) is probably as close to perfect as it gets IMHO.

Tigrinus came in. It seems a bit lethargic but apparently all of them do that when you first get them. quite active, gonna try and feed NLS finicky eater pellets first to see if it will attempt to eat tomorow. once i confirm it can eat pellets, i'll start crushing up carnovore pellets.

I wouldn't bother trying to feed for about 3 days while it settles in. It will be fine. I would also suggest feeding what wesdid for the first few days. It most likely will take a month or so to get it eating pellets. I also believe the shrimp issue is the salt water variety, but not because I know ****.
