Hello everyone I need some advice. In a Couple of days I am receiving a 9 inch NTT dat . The downside is he is on feeders and eats some freeze dried krill. I want to get it off of feeder ASAP and onto tilapia and shrimp. I think I am just going to put him into the tank and hopefully his other tank mates will show him how to eat the tilapia and shrimp. Any one have any tips? Thank you !

I would make sure it's healthy before you do that. I had datnoids that starve for nearly a month before it started to eat pellet and shrimp. Yes having other fish around will speed up the process. The older they are the more stubborn, just like us human. ?

Most dats love and cannot resist raw shrimp so getting your thinbar onto raw foods should not be too tough, don't offer it any feeders when it arrives....on the other hand I have found that thinbars are extremely stubborn when it comes to getting them onto sinking pellets.

Once they start eating shrimp, stuff the shrimp with pieces of massivore... more balanced diet.
Yep,a tactic I've employed in the past.I' had one thinbar that would manage to spit the pellets out.I got tired of playing games with that guy and eventually got rid of him.
