hi i am new to datnoids and was looking in to get some but had some feeding questions will it be easier to get my dats to eat frozen silversides and krill if they learn from my large 9n inch tats and silver dollars that eat those as well as massivore pellets?if not how should i go about getting them to eat?

Absolutely, dats learn very well from watching other fish eat. They love to join in the feeding frenzy with other species. The key whether you can introduce them to silversides and massivores is the size of the dats themselves. Any idea the size of dat your looking to get? Also..what species of dat do you have in mind?

the dat will have to be at least close to six inches to be okay with the payaras with the biggest being about 9 and a half and i cut the silversides in two. wat are some of the more common datnoids?

Yeah, i think the 6 to 9" range should work well. IT's (Indonesion Tiger) are the most common available to hobbiests. Finding IT's in this range, you most likely will haved to find a private seller. Aquarium stores rarely get them in at that size unless they're a trade in. I believe AT's (American Tiger) have been recently more available lately, but not sure. If you find a dat that your interested in, post a pic and a price if possible and we can let you know if it's a gd deal or not.

Just want to add to keep an eye on some of the vendors of the "buy n sell". A few of these vendors get some nice established dats from time to time
