Getting off live food

When people out here say they feed their gars "market shrimp", is that literally a package of fresh shrimp from the meat department
at a grocery store? Raw or cooked? frozen or fresh? My gar is about a foot now and Im thinking about starting to get him off live here in a couple months.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks guys.

Yep go to your grocery store n pick up frozen uncooked shrimp. Thaw a few out in cold water, cut into pieces usually longer for gars and they will love it. Most "fresh" are thawed that day
