State of chaos
Hey guys, I got a little 2" L-104 "Clown Pleco" yesterday. And what a darn good-looking fish he is. I saw him all day yesterday and briefly this morning, but he seems to have found the tank's one blind spot. I have driftwood for him to munch on but he has yet to touch it. I can't turn the lights off, because he's invisible on the dark gravel.

mine is about 4" and was very active in the begining, and now is a lazy sack of well ya know. my bristlenose is a little more active.

plecos are always more docile during the day...go buy led moonlights and you should get a better reaction.

will simulate moonlight allowing him to start lurking out and for you to still be able to see him.

Hmm...Since Plecos stake out their own territory, should I move my driftwood closer to his lair so he is more inclined to munch on it?

You are not going to see big bite marks out of the wood. Over time with a 2'' fish you might see some of the wood disappear.
With a fish that big/small it might take over a year to see the wood become smaller and smaller.

To be honest you don't have a problem with the fish. let it be and over time he/she will get used to being out and about. One day is not enough time. Just provide zucchini and waffer for him/her to eat. Wood alone is not enough.

Plus this is a Panaque i have 14''+ Panaques that I don't see because they hide all day and come out only to feed. If the hiding spots are there you can bet they will use them.

"Bout time you made a thread for Kermit! Here's what I recommend if you want him to be out and about sooner:

1: Moon lights are always a good choice, might be a little expensive though.
2: When you feed wafers, scatter around tank (put in different corners)
3: Don't rearrange the decor, he'll just start all over again
