I'm thinking of changing my 180 to bare bottom and getting rid of the gravel, can I just take it all out and rely on my filters to be able to handle the bio load or should I take a bit out at a time to give the filters time to build up extra BB.

as much as i love barebottom ( easy maintance ) i hate seeing crap and whatnot build up on the bottom, im barebottom right now but going to get black gravel OR sand soon!

i hate maintaining sand and am getting rid of the gravel for my bichirs, I have a giant net so scooping the poop out wont be a problem.

I'll give you my 180 w 2 fx5's if you take out the gravel and your tank has an ammonia spike and goes into a mini cycle. You'll be fine
