Getting rid of mineral deposit

What is the most effective way to get rid of it? I havent set up my tank yet. all ive done is fill it up for a test fill and ive already started scrubbing it but its not toooo effective.

Vinegar. If its really thick use clr and make sure to rinse a few times after.

Yep. You might want to put it in a spray bottle to make sure most of the vinegar sticks to the deposits. Maybe even let it soak in a little bit and then scrub away.

I've used vinegar and pH down, both work good. Vinegar is cheaper though.

You didn't say if it was glass or acrylic.

For acrylic, use vinegar and Mr. Clean Magic Eraser! You'll be surprised

Get replacement blades for utility knives/box cutters. Be careful when using them since they are extremely sharp.
