I want to change substrate but where do you get rid of 100 lbs of old gravel from a 100 gallon tank Advice?

Where do you live?
Have a nearby dirt road or driveway that has some potholes?
100lb would make a decent filler.

Have bushes in your yard? If its natural colored rock spread it around the bushes.
If its some funky color, dig a hole, and bury it.

Hello; I have some gravel from at least the 1960's. Several hundred pounds from the 1970's. It does not go bad or wear out. I have several buckets with gravel that has been used many times and is going to be used again if my plans work out. If you do not like the color, the gravel can be used in temporary setups, for growing plants or in non-show tanks. Another thing is that it does not get any cheaper over time. I would like to find some more of the black quartz gravel that I purchased in the 70's.

post it for sale on craigslist, if it doesn't sell and you can't figure out another use for it, put it out in the trash, one handful at a time. it'll be gone in a couple of years.

Hello; I have some unpleasnt colors of gravel from folks that have donated tanks to me over time. I do not tell them that the gravel wil not be used in a display tank. I keep it for use in flower pot or plant grow tanks.

Just dump it in the trash if you really want to get rid of it. Volume wise, it doesn't really take up all that much space.

I switched to sand, and I'm never going back to gravel. So that's what I did.
