Alright, I've got a snail infestation. They're really really tiny (2mm) snails that are all over almost every surface of the aquarium. I want to get rid of them. What should I do? Smash as many as I can every day? Can I build some kind of trap?
Are there any fish that would eat them that wouldn't immediately get snapped up by my 4-6" bichirs?

i think you can buy something were you can get rid of them, i hear loaches are good to get rid of them, i have snails on my 1st tropical tank 4 years ago i just crush them and that got rid them all. but i did had a clown pleco RIP in my tank but i don't know if my pleco eat them.

No need to resort to chemicals and fish. Just control your feeding rations and manually remove them. That is all you need to keep their population in check. You can smash the snails and feed to your fish too thus your fish will happily get the extra protein from it.

do you know were you got the snails from becuase i got my from a bad lfs ,i was buying plants and they were snail on the plants i did not check.

As stated in Lupin's link use the vegetable method, but with a twist. Instead of just leaving the vegetables in the tank take a glass jar with a lid, and put a few small holes in the lid so the snails can get in, and not any fish. Then just remove the jar with the snails in it, and dump them in the toilet, or crush them and feed them to the fish. Just repeat this for a couple weeks and it should take care of the snails.

This is the case for most plants that you buy from any LFS. Its not really their fault because in most cases they buy the plants from somewhere else and might get the snails that way. And if your LFS is anything like the ones by me they have over a hundred tanks and taking care of all the snails in every tank is just not worth it. Especially when they do more good then bad.

maybe some assassin snails? they should keep the population in control. i used a dwarf puffer that eradicated my whole tank of them
