I am going to LFS to get some sane

I finally decided to go with carib sea super naturals peace river sand

Typical Size: 1.0 - 2.0mm
Average Density: 93 pounds per cubic foot

The shop has 20 gallon bags, so I am not sure if I should pick 2 or 3.

As per the calculation, 2 bags would be 2 cm thick layer and 3 bags would be 3 cm layer for 75 gallon (calculated using density given there and 4.5 sq ft surface area). I only care about hiding the bottom glass, there won't be any plants. Inputs? Thanks in advance guys.

Typically I use 1 pound of substrate per 1 gallon of tank size to get a base of 1 inch. So you would need 4X 20lb bags.

Check out Manufacturers Mineral Co (425) 228-2120 they are in Renton. Not sure if they are open but they carry aquarium safe gravel in the size you want. 50-100lb bags. 50lbs for less than $20. Sand in the back of my 29g planted came from them also used in my 55g planted.

Thanks, would look them up. I am looking for smaller grain size so I get the sand feel I want.

They don't list everything on their website. I would give them a call and see if they are open. They have a display box with options.
Tractor Supply carries sand blasting media that's cheap too.
