Well a few weeks ago, the midwest cichlid association had a many convention at the lfs(I wasn't able to make it) Well, some guy brought in a 55 full of tangs and lent them to Dan as a display. I was talking with Dan, and he said he's talking with the owner about selling the tangs. He said he sould have the anwser in about a week. I told him if everything pulled threw, I would definantly take the calvis, probably take the julidochromis, and might take the frontosa. What do I need to know about them? Do they need special foods or anything? I know tthat mbunas can get malawi bloat from to much meat and protein so alot of their diet must mainly consist of spirnulina. Pics up later. calvis is 3-4", juli is 2-3", front is 3-4"

NEED HELP! BUMP
How much is a calvis that size worth? I would have to look for through a couple pics, but i think its the white kind

It all depends on where you are at for a price and what kind of calvis, frontosa and julie it is.

White, black or infin calvis around here at that size would go for like $30. A yellow calvis would go for like $50 at that size.

A burundi front would go for like $10 at that size.

For the julie it all depends on what kind it is, but at that size it would most likely run about $15.

I just compared a few pics. Its a white calvis. I'll assume "infin calvis" stands for a cross breed beetween the white and black, and a "yellow calvis" would be the simalar A. comp..
I have confirmed the id on the juli. It's a Julidochromis marlieri. The front wasn't what I was conserned with when I was taking pics, but i got its head in one of the shots. If I could get a list of the common types of fronts I could narrow it out. It was not a zaire blue

Inkfin is just a nicer version of the black. Yellow isn't like a comp, still a calvas, just a yellow color.

Maleri julie tends to be one of the more expensive julies, but it all depends on where you live and how avalible they are. For that size I would say $20 is a fair price.

julies don't come often here. The other lfs carries the most common types, all of them, only an inch or less, and they want $20+ per fish

a 3-4" front for $10, i gotta move to michigan...

good luck and have fun with em.

the only fish of those 3 to have any concerns would be the front with getin air in from maybe trying to eat a floating pellet or food. Other than that, make sure the tank is big enough...

Yeah, burundis you can get that cheap sometimes. Once they get bigger than 5'' they shoot up in price.
