well i just got my first aro and havn't seen it eat yet.
has only been in the tank for a day.
aro is about 10" any ideas what to feed it???
or should i just keep trying different foods till i find one it eats?

I would try crickets to start it off. Find out what it ate at the LFS as well.

time is my only advice, a healthy silver aro will eventually start eatin when its hungry, dont worry.

I woulld trie crickets and talk to the lfs and ask them what they was feeding a friend of mine went through the same thing a few weeks ago his started eating crickets on his 3rd day and has't had any more problems out of it

Crickets are not a good idea. Though most silvers will readily accept crickets, it will make it harder for it to switch to other staple foods. At ten inches it is big enough to starve a bit, it will also need time to adjust to it's new surroundings. Feed it only a quality pellet or food stick for now, once eating regular you can expand it's diet.

That makes sense.

a word of advise, it would be worth asking the place you got it from to feed the arow first befor you buy it.

I did that once, got these rare fish took them home, they didnt eat, tryed every thing you can imagin and the eventually starved to death.

Dont worry Aros can go without food for a long period. Mine was not eating for almost a month and then suddenly developed a voracious appetite.
