hey guys im new here

im setting up my 30 gal with a Aqueon Power Filter 55/75, Submersible 150w heater, and a little power head. driftwood smell and a few river rocks .. theres still a lot of room in the tank

im looking to get some piranhas would this be a good size tank for 12 babys then in about a mouth drop down to 7??

or what do you guys suggest doin??

If you are planning to use it as a grow out id say go for it.

Most people keep good schools in at least a 75 with 4/5 RBP's.

In a 55 you can keep 3/4 but they are messy and will eventually need a bigger tank. You will have to do 2-3 50 pct water changes a week to keep the nitrates low in a 55

thanx for your help..

i was just talkin to my friend and im getting his 15 exodons for $50...i guess that a better idea

i got 13 6 inch reds in a 125 gallon and got to do 50% water change every other day or nitrates go off the chart

I dont know how you can keep up with those w/c'S!

The love for my fish. Getting rid of some is not an option . It's like this, I hook up a pool vacuum hose 1 1/2 in. to my FX5, and 65gal of water is drained in 4 1/2 min. The catch is to fill it back up I hook up a 5/8 in garden hose to the bathroom shower head and that takes about 15 min. 20 min every other day for the 13 members of my family is well worth it. It's mostly dedication.
