Going to be stocking my tank with blue gill and other sunfish. My friend has a pond but most of the fish are stunted. If I were to get some youngsters, would they grow up to be stunted in my tank?

if they are stunted from conditions in the pond, and you provide better accommodations, they should grow out just fine. the smaller you get them, the better.
if there's some sort of genetic problem going on, nothing you can do.
either way should be interesting.

Most likely there are too many bluegill in the pond competing for the same amount of food. Could either feed them more, or remove some from the pond.

yeah i was thinking that the fry could still be stunted b/c the pond hasnt had any new stocked fish for probably 30 years. im sure i could grow them up pretty nicley but i dont think they will ever be lunker gills. last time i was fishing there was about 2 years ago, mostly caught green sunfish, but seen many small bluegill too. largest green i caught was around 5 inches.
