So I’m ready to jump into plecos! Keep seeing posts/pictures/stock lists and officially have the bug it seems.

I would like to add in with my Oscar, about 7”, who is solo in a 125. He was in with a common pleco for awhile, didn’t even seem to recognize it as anything other than a log. Common is no longer in there.

So I’m looking for some advice from those who know. Obviously don’t want anything that will end up in the Oscars mouth... targeting plecos that will be big enough to live with Oscar but not turn into 15-20” monsters. Maybe 6-12” at maturity?

Looking for suggestions on a small group or maybe should just add one? Like the looks of a few... green phantom, vampire, gold nugget seem to be pretty available. Something that pops.

The 125 has 3 AC110s and I have two wavemakers I’d like to use to help sweep the bottom if i add pleco(s). Any insight appreciated as always.

Green phantoms or vampires would be a good choice, maybe take a look at three beacons and mangos as well. If you wanted something that stayed in the 5-6” range and can hold their own L333/66 would be another one to think about. You could do a small group.

I’ll look into all of these, thank you. Think I’m going to try 3 different species that fall into the right size range and see how it goes. Have empty 55s if need be.

So I’m looking around at online vendors for some of these... Wetspot has some obviously. Anyone have other recommendations for vendors to check?

Here are the two I ended up with! I got some rehashy because that’s what Wet Spot was feeding. Both doing well - Oscar not paying attention to the blue phantom at all. The sunshine is just too small to be in the 125 with the Oscar, was hoping he’d be a bit bigger. In a 30 gal by himself for time being until he puts on a little size.
