So I payed for two WC azuls from Araguaia through americancichlids.net . They will be arriving monday AP to AP. I have a 40 gallon QT tank setup for them and I plan on dosing them with prazipro for a week, keeping the temperature around 87-88F, and adding in aquarium salt. Plan is to get them feeding on cut shrimp, they supposedly already will accept dried krill, so getting them onto market shrimp should be easy. Anyone have anything else I should add to make sure they make it? Don't want a repeat of last time.

no need to ad anything to the water some salt is fine..just give them feeders until the adapt to the tank and use to u feeding them then train them..first mistake is starving a fish to train them right away..keep in mind bro most shippers dont feed them sometimes 1-2 days before shipping so waste dont get out of control while shipping..get them fatten up then try other foods..good luck..

last time i didnt add anything into the water one of the azuls died from gill flukes. since theyre already on fdkrill, ill probably try feeding them that first and move them onto shrimp.

Sounds like a plan. But when dosing start w/ no more than half dosage. And then see how they handle it from there. Have you asked how long that supplier has had them in his tanks? It may be a good idea to grab a few feeders and get em gutloaded and qt'd while your waitn on your azuls...just in case they wont eat shrimp or fd krill.

also at that high of temp make sure you have an air stone higher temps = less oxygen saturation in the water column you can do it in the form of sponge filters if you like and increase the bioload in the tank

np man, will upload pics as soon as i get them =]

Alright ill start off with half a dosage, if they are handling it alright, when should i increase to full dosage? I have no idea how long the original supplier has had them in their tanks, americancichlids.net is getting them from deep water a supplier in canada. They will be receiving them on friday and shipping them out on monday. I'll work on getting the feeders tomorrow, only thing is i dont have another QT tank.

I have one aerator/one airstone sitting in there. Filtration wise i use a fluval 404 packed with ceramic rings. Might add another aerator though.
