Have you ever wanted something, and asked for it, and then when you finally get it your a bit apprehensive?

When I first started my job I said I wanted to work in a certain position. That was denied, now a year and half later I am given the opportunity to work the entry level for that position. I am now nervous, if I do good I will move up, this company is pretty good about seeing talent and moving you up. I am apprehensive because what if I just do okay.

I know this will go away soon, just wondered if anyone else ever feels like this.

sometimes being nervous is good, it keeps you alert. i 'm sure you'll do well, i mean the only thing you can do is do your best, right?! :)

That's true, it's those who are over confident that fail.

Looking ate your sig, made me remember the time I was DUMB enough to try bacon gum. It was the worst tasting **** ever, I was at work so I couldn't brush my teeth, I tried everything even swishing coffee around in my mouth. I finally put actual coffee beans in my mouth to get rid of it.

Just do it! ..... and remember, as with the bacongum, not to bite more than you can chew...;)

every boss i have worked for has told me this and should i ever be able to work again i will tell my employees this too.

even when i was at at school worrying about my exams, my parents always drummed it into me all you can do is your best.

Me and my wife when we were house hunting.I was ok until the sale lady took our 'now' house off the market. I was like oh my goodness.

I don't move much, I was in my last place for 18 years

i felt like this back in august when i was moving out of my armed forces house to my permanent civilian address, knowing i was due out the forces on the 20 oct 09.
i was desperate to leave the forces but i also knew it would be a big life change for me and boy was it scary.

cliche :banher:

go for it! life is too short to not try to do what you want. besides...being "just ok" at something you enjoy is better that being really good at something that you dont.

mmmmmm bacon :ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL:

I have to encourage you with this.

I have been a chef for over 30 years, have cooked many many many different varietals of meals from the 6 course vitner dinner for a south african wine maker where I had to pair each of the courses with a different wine. Afterwards he said it was the best pairing he has had in canada with his wines and they were expensive wines. Let me tell you I was nervous at that.

Yet, I one time had to cook a basic lunch for one of the best caterers in regina. Nothing fancy just for a killer chef who is old enough to be my grandma.

Yet, I had a wedding for a special friend which was a basic turkey dinner but still a special occasion.

It seems no matter the occasion I still get a confident nervousness for about half of my functions. I think when one loses that and gets to self assured they have lost something.

Go out and blow them away, being nervous is a sign that you are able and capable of doing this job. May you be faced with nothing but much success.
