GF needs books on South American fish for Peru Expedition

i've not been on here for aaaaages but i need your help and suggestions please

my gf is going to Peru in June as part of her conservation course. She wants to do a project on the local fish. As part of her research she's looking for books/field guides about the different fish she may encounter.

i've had a little look out but can't find anything which is specific to this area. I have a very large collection of fish books so there's plenty of info there but it would be great to find all the information in one publication.

so, let me know what you're all saying.

would be nice if any of you have been to Peru and could share your experiences too

South American Eartheaters by Thomas Weidner is pretty much the bible for south American cichlids. Only problem is it's out of print and very expensive!

I haven't found a lot of books about fish from certain localities. You can try searching on amazon "fishes of peru" or fishes of the rivers she will be going to, and there may be simple papers done on them that she could read and use as a source.
