I am getting a flowerhorn tomorrow morning.

My GH of water is 3-4 degree which is very low for the fish. I have equilibrium and replenish but they don't seem cost effective. I am planning to switch to seachem cichlid lake salt.

1. What degree do I need to bring hardness to?
2. Do I need trace element from seachem as well?
3. Will I cause shock to the fish during water change? If yes, any idea to avoid. Add mixture of salt slowly while adding new water?

I would just use what you have. If you raise your GH, KH, PH you will have to match them when doing water changes which can be difficult.

I don't personally use them, but I know products like CZ High Active and Koi Clay (Calcium Montmorillonite) are popular within the FH community.

I am going to go with seachem than other local brands. Same with food, nls or hikari, not flowerhorn specific food.
