Ok so I do a little thing every year where i got to Petco and pic out the koi carp I think is the coolest and bring him home and put HIm/her in my 55gallon outdoor pond, this year I've picked out a white mirror carp with a black/orange head and back, i was wondering if this is considered a ghost carp?

P.S. THEY DON"T LIVE IN THE 55 GALLON FOR EVER JUST WHEN THEY'RE BABIES.BY THE END OF SUMMER THEY'RE REHOMED TO A PRIVATE POND WITH ONLY CARP.

Are bred by crossbreeding the Commons, Mirrors, or Leathers with the ornamental Koi Carp. Fishermen say that these are a harder fighting variety of fish.

Ghost carp is a cross between Japanese Koi and Common Mirror carp. They lived for many years and can reach enormous sizes in any given election conditions. In a pond the size of which you speak, they could easily live a long life if you don't many in stock.I have caught ghost carp that have been close to 10lb in weight when fishing, there is every chance they can ge very big.

Ghost carp reach the same size as any other common or mirror carp, i have seen one about 50lb crusing around in the sac river and have caught ghosties up to 19lbs.
