Hey guys I'm new to the site but I have a couple years experience with fish keeping but nothing like this...

While I was cleaning my canister filter today I noticed two baby Ghost Knifes. Now these are about an inch long so I have no idea how old they are.
The tank is a 120 gallon community fw tank. For the two parents, one is about 20 inches and the other is around 8. (Despite everything I have ever read about bad tempers around their own species these two get along extremely well) I'm not sure I've ever seen a gf as big as this one with my own eyes and i will post pictures of the two and the babies soon.

My question for the community is what kind of care do these babies need? Has anybody had any successful experiences? Really how rare is this? And how many babies should I be looking for now? I've done a little research and this seems almost impossible...

Super cool! If they're already 1'' long they can probably eat a little bit of bloodworms, but you might want to try brine shrimp, too. I doubt they'd eat liquid small-fry stuff.

If they lived that long in your canister, I wouldn't think they'd need anything extra special from you. I would just feed them bloodworms. How insane that happened! I can't wait to see pics of the babies. That is the coolest thing ever.

too cool, get rid or move the featherfin syno or whatever catfish and plecos and you might have more batches. Very awesome.

Congrats on the spawn! What's the water parameters like? I would keep the babies separate from everyone for now until they grow bigger. A 20" BGK is impressive!

Thanks guys. I can't move the others in tank right now. I have other tanks but due to lack of space I can't set them up.
What parameters did you want to know? I don't have a ph tester but temp is always 79.5 F and ammonia is always 0 ppm.

wow that pretty cool. this is only the second time in yeeeaaarrs that ive seen or heard of gk spawns. i guess it becuase no one keeps these fish properly enough for them to reach that size often. much less two together.
