Ghost Knife Fish, Change in Behavior

He's about 8 inches long in a 20 gal tank with 2 (getting very large) plecos. I recently added a wood piece. He usually hangs out in his black tube during the day. The last week he is hanging out around and about the tank during the day. He doesn't seem to have any disease looking marks on him. See picture...are the tiny bubbles at the top because the wood addition? Any suggestions on his behavior change? Thanks, Teresa

I do a water change every 2 weeks. are these levels normal or way to high? thanks

If ur water is well and acting normal then this isn’t too uncommon. Seen others post about their bgk out and about in the daytime.
