Ghost knife growth rate

We got some "Gray ghost knives" at work recently, and I am pretty sure that I want some. These are just a pink or "blushing" variant of the BGK.

I am wondering what the expected growth rate is on these guys. They are small, approx 3" and I want to eventually put them in my 165 when they grow large enough that my 7" tat cannot eat them.

As for "them", I plan on getting a couple and growing them out separately then attempting to mix a large male and female in the 165g tank.

So how fast do ghost knives grow?

Very slowly, lol. They should reach around 8" in...three months? Not sure exactly, as I don't remember the growth rate of mine, but after they reach around 8" the growth rate will slow down a large amount.

Yeah, ghost's are slow growers for sure. I have had one for several months, and it is still only 6"...from 4"... diet I am sure plays a part, but in general they grow slowly.

They can be pretty slow, but not as slow as I first initially thought. I got one maybe about a year ago (give or take a few months) at 4" and it's currently at 10"

Okay cool, I just want to make sure it will grow faster than the red tail vampire tetras, and it looks like it will!

yeah they grow pretty slow but just do alot of water changes ank keep the water how they like it and feed good food.

keep him well fed and do heavy water changes, keep him in a big tank. hell grow quick just like anything else.
