I'm guessing the same as any other knife, small fish, worms, may be some brine or ghost shrimp. Nice pick up, one of those fish I see at the lps but never really thought about keeping one, I was always a clown fan.

I haven't personally kept one, but my mother's ghost knife is 16". It will eat most anything. She feeds it earthworms occasionally, and other prepared foods including pellets. If I get to her house sometime soon I will try to get a pic.

Mine eats anything. It loves blood worms, fresh shrimp, fish, pellets, small feeders, all the freeze dried stuff too. Easy to feed IME.

with small ones, I verify what it's already eating just to minimize adjustment stress. all of them love bloodworms, but I consider that a transitional food, not staple.
yours being 6" , it's probably been eating better foods.
feed like any carnivore, minus the teeth. meaty pellets, worms etc. mine really took off growing on broken Massivore Delight. but eats NLS too.
IME, the more comfortable they become settled in a tank, the greedier they go for new choices.

He's taken up residence with my clown loach in there caves, I feed in the tank at the moment all meaty foods and floating pellets will it be better to feed sinking pellets.

At first, most of them like to stay in shelter in new tank, & are braver feeding at bottom there. if he's cozy with loaches they will compete for the food there. I wouldn't even worry about feeding him until dusk, their natural feeding tendency. he's gonna be settling in today.

after dark they generally will take some tours around tank to orient themselves to the layout. give him multiple hidey places to choose from. then let him decide where he prefers over time.
