I just went over to my feeder tank today to get some feeders and ghost shrimp to feed my peacock bass and tire track eel, and noticed that three of my ghost shrimp are carrying eggs. I've never had an aquatic animal of any sort breed, so you might imagine my excitedness :p

I have no idea what to do from here though. I've got a breeder net that I'm planning on putting them in tonight, but that's all I really can think to do. Can anyone help? Much thanks.

if you have a seperate tank your not using now the throw them in there cuz the adults can prey on the babies, so try to isolate them as best you can

Good luck, I've been trying for a while now. No need to separate as they don't eat offspring. Better off breeding cherry shrimp.

i heard that the babies need to hatch in salty water not sure if that is true

I think there are a couple that are sold as ghost shrimp that the babys will be fine in full fresh. But for most of them, they need brackish for the little ones.

There are lots of species of shrimp labled as Ghost Shrimp.

Sorry if just Ghost Shrimp is a little obscure then, the local fish store just sells them as "Ghost Shrimp".

I'll seperate them in a week or 2 in the breeder net and see what happens. I heard putting a moss ball or something along those lines in the net with them helps.
