My puffer loves ghost shrimp and I can get 80 for 10 bucks at my LFS. I was thinking about getting 80 and throwing them in the tank. I do not care if they live, if they breed thats cool. I haven't put them in since I bought a lot of fake plants so they may have a chance. I just love the way they swim and mess with the gravel. Also, the pufers love them. Is this a good idea or not?

I say Yes, i did this with my bichir sort of.
He's still a youngin bout 3 inch and is being fed small feeder guppies.
I have a 10 gal i was keeping the guppies in, and he was getting picked on a little in the 48 gal with my cichlids so i said what the hell and moved him to the 10 gal till he gets a little bit bigger. Lol, needless so say he eats until hes full. I got 10 guppies on wednesday and he finished off the last one today. I was worried about him gorging but he doesnt so its all good.

Do your puffers know when to stop eating?
Some fish are gluttonous and will eat till it kills them.
Ghost shrimp are eaasy to breed but it difficult to feed the young in a tank.
If your fish know when to stop it could be fun... Give them lots of places to hide including some clear glass so you can see what's going on too.

Ghost shrimp are cool an good at surviving. I threw 50 in my 75 (that has a fire eel, marble goby, Endi, columbian cat shark, along with various plecos an some clown loaches).

Haha, maybe they just like the sump more, no predation. But I don't have a sump so they are to make a home in my main tank!!! It's gonna be fun.
