I have a densly planted 30 gallon aquarium that I currenlty use as a grow out tank for guppy and platy fry that I want to breed ghost shrimp in also. My question is will th ghost shrimp eat alot of the fish fry? The fry will be put in there when they are a a day to a week old.

My plans are to get 10-20 ghost shrimp and just leave them alone and breed them colony style. I dont want to look for females with eggs all the time jsut because I am only breeding them as feeders for my osccars, ray and arowana.

Help would be greatly apreciated!

Thanks,

Eric

That should work fine. If they are the Ghost Shrimp from North America, they have a short larval stage in there reproductive cycle witch does not require brackish water. If the tank is well established there should be plenty of food there for them to pass this stage.
