Hey guys and gal.

I have a little 1 gallon with a piece of driftwood and some moss and other low lying plants.

I put my remaining ghost shrimp in there since they didn't fare well in my other tanks.

Will they be okay with no filter given a 25% water change twice weekly?

if there are only a few shrimp then there isnt a huge issue with waste

the big issue would be the gasses they dont use a lot of oxygen and i am sure that the plants convert a fair amount for the tank but make sure that there is surface area to dissolve oxygen in

with out a filter what you have is basicly a pond this is just a quick tid bit on oxygen in ponds

TL;DR light to ensure plant growth would help

They should be fine, but i would always recommend using a filter. Shrimps don't use much oxygen, but always make sure there is adequete surface agitation for gaseous exchange.
