Would it be ok to treat my Mbuna to some ghost shrimp? If so how many? I have 17 "assorted" Mbuna in a 55 gallon tank. Their sizes range from 1.25 inches to 2.25 inches

no, not unless you want to kill them. Mbuna are herbivores and omnivores, giving them a food with too high of a protein content can bring on Malawi bloat which is fatal if not caught early enough and treated. You want to feed them a food with no more than 35% protein, preferably something with spirulina in it
