My 30 gal. aquarium has 6 ghost shrimp in it, no other inhabitants. I'm getting 20 red cherry shrimp next week, can they live safely with the ghost shrimp?
I have a 10 gal. set up and cycling if I can't keep the two together.

No they wont. Whenever I've added cherries to a ghost shrimp tank the ghost shrimp EAT the cherries. Cherries can stay with other algae eating shrimp like crystal red and other bumblebee shrimp. I wouldn't add other neocardina since they would breed with the cherries. Vampire shrimp are cool too.

There will be casualties, but if you provide enough places to hide for the Red Cherries then it might be possible...

In my tank I have 10 ghost shrimp, 2 vampire shrimp and 1 bamboo shrimp and they get along great....my pleco and other community fish leave them alone.

I have 12 ghosts and 20 baby red cherry shrimp in a 10 gallon...no casualties that I've noticed. Two weeks into it and even the tiny babies are still there. Ghosts are fully mature. So far it's been fine in my tank.

That's good to know! When my cherry shrimp start breeding I am going to move some in with the ghost shrimp.

My adult ghost shrimp are 1.5, maybe 2 inches long.
