Have any of you been able to breed ghost shrimp in large numbers and raise them to a good feeder size? If you have could you describe your setup you had them in?

i know this is old but anyway...

We dont have ghost shrimp in Australia, but what people do with freshwater shrimp here is, get a smaller sized tank and fill it with java moss, they love to live all around it, that should get them to breed.

I've breed ghost shrimp in 10g tanks over a two month period and java moss as well as freshwater ferns help in breeding them. Also, keep the set-up simple. I just had an air stone with a heater and hood. I changed out the water 20% every 5 days and made sure the ph was about 6.5 to 7. Good Luck though, you'll find that they are very easy to breed for feeding purposes.

Thanks for the replys I will try setting them up in one of my spare ten gallons and see how it works. And what temp. did you keep them at.

I breed mine at room temp. They'll spawn and lay there lora at just about any temps. it takes right at 15days before they drop there eggs. you want hardly beable to see them. when she does.
