Do they need a heater?
Will a Sponge filter be enough?
How many will fit in a 10 gal tank?
What food do they eat?
How big do they get?

Asking cause my nana has a 10 gal that she doesnt want, so I figure itd be a good place to keep some ghost shrimp.

They don't need heaters. In fact mine did better without a heater.

Sponge filter will be fine. Mine only had an airstone, and some plants.

You can fit around 200 in a 10g, if your using them for feeders.

They will eat algae, bloodworms, leftover fish food, shrimp pellets, in fact just about anything.

make sure the tank has a lid on it, because the shrimp have a tendency to jump out.

ok cool thanks P45

anything special for them for lighting?

I never had a problem with them jumping out of the water. I did keep the water level down about 4" though. No special lighting is necessary.

They are not criticle on lighting, if the tank has enough light to keep a piece of elodea alive they will be happy.
Be aware that there is more than one type of ghost/glass shrimp. Some require brackish water to breed, others do fine in fresh.
