i cant keep shrimp alive they live for about 2 weeks and then i find them dead i see them eat flake food and frozen blood worms my ph is 6.8 my biggest fish is a 2inch corry cat am i just meant not to have them ?

little help anyone? is my lfs just giving me $h!ty shrimp or what any help would be appreciated

ive kept them with my snail breeding tank, and small tang cichlids. both tanks had a much higer pH (8.0-8.4), live plants and hiding places. don't know what i'm doing right but they live. i have one in a spare 29g with a piece of driftwood and some river rock. pH is around 7.6 and i t got a few snails in it. i don't feed it, turn the light on or anything. it's just running incase i need it. good luck.

ya i have a snail lots of fake plants and some tetras i have no idea whats going on

you may have very soft water and these shrimp need some calcium in the water in order to survive molting and rebuild their shells...you can remedy this by putting one of those cuttle bones you get for parrots in your tank...plus ghost shrimp do better in alkaline water...hope this helps.....www.petshrimp.com has a lot of good info on shrimp
