I have feeder tanks, with Ghost Shrimp, and Red Rosys. [Comets die TOO fast]
The Shrimps and Rosys seem to became pets more then.. Feeders actually. I enjoy keeping them and never want to feed them to my turtles. [Not like my turtles eat them anyways.. They perfer pellets and other food other then living animals @_@]
Anyways. The shrimps begin to multiply over the weeks. You'll notice TINY TINY TINY little dots moving at the bottom of your tank. Oh yes! Those will be your Shrimpys. And they hide alot on trees, behind, etc. They take ages to grow. I have them in a 30 GAL.
This will sound funny, but my shrimp eat my snails @_@;;
I also have abunch of Mystery Snails. [Babys their so small their basically invisible] And they mate at a small size too! They just continue to multiply over the nights, and as they multiply they float on top of the water.. Becoming Shrimp food T_T;
Shrimps are easy to keep alive, don't let the water get too cold or they'll fall over and die.
They eat each other, so be sure to drop some sorts of food they can "Hunt" for. They enjoy roaming the tank and doing clean ups. They clean up after my rosys! Acouple thousand Shrimps, Fish, Snails live in this tank, and it seems to be a balanced community. The biggest shrimp I have so far isn't even an inch yet T_T;;. That shows how slow they grow. Its been about.. 2 months?
Oh and be sure to clean.. The shrimp when they die. Or else they'll gain a fungi around their bodies and other shrimps will eat it and eventually die too?
Well I hope you have fun keeping shrimps if you plan to. Their fun to watch I guess.
