Giant apple snail

Where is the best place to get one? found some on Ebay but they are $10-$15 + $10 shipping. I dont want to pay that for a snail. And a question are thease snails fully aquatic or do they need air?

apple snails get huge, you can get them pea sized to quarter size for $2. any bigger and you'll pay for it. they are fully aquatic but is O2 levels drop in the water they can breathe surface air.

I've always wanted some of those, but I can't seem to get my hands on any around here. I saw one at a LFS once. I went back to get it and it was gone already. Never seen one for sale after that.

Thats what the guy at the LFS said when I asked him to order some. I thought he was just lazy.
