After some thought and numerous suggestions, I picked up 20-25 Giant Danios and introduced them to my Oscar tank. This was a ploy to give my Os something to chase rather then torment each other.

The goal was accomplished. However, I was not under the impression these Danios would stay at the surface of the tank and dart away when the Oscars Lunged. I have been fishing Danios out of my Filter socks all day because I have no form of intake grate on my 2" DIY PVC Overflows.

Lessons learned: Danios stay at the VERY TIPPY TOP of the water column. And Oscars learn very quickly that fast swimming and lunging doesn't work well for catching Danios, but slow swimming just below the surface will reward you with a quick meal.

thats odd, when i used them they would literally make laps around the tank. try getting some more current in the water, it's good for the other fish anyway.

I used Giant Danios as dithers in the past but they ended up beating up my yellow tail barracudas:screwy:. These guys are tough.

22 Danios down to 9 Danios. The Os seem to have more trouble getting them now that their is less.

Getting more flow in the tank is in the works. May have a bead on 4 Maxijet 1200s, or 2 Koralia 40s.

I Have about 100 Giant Danio's living with my black rhom, Lucifer. My black rhom is well fed and too lazy to chase down a G. danio. These guys are also great because they are too large to be sucked down by the overflows.

Most of my Giant danio's are fat like wriggly gum sticks.
