I have now named my largest GD "Ovid," because his most recent life-trial. I woke up at about 4 am to the sound of my pump running a little dry. I went to the tank and took a flashlight to the overflow-screen, suspecting it to be clogged with debris (my big fish had detached some of the leaves, about 7inches broad, from my amazon sword). To my surprise and sadness, I saw a caudal fin sticking out of the trap. I went to pick it out and it twitched!

I quickly dumped the trap out into the tank and shone the light into the tank to see my largest danio bent at a 30 degree angle and twitch-swimming. I figured I would let it be and see how if it survived :-\

In the morning, he was swimming against my current and came out to feed heartily; just missing some scales...he is my most epic fish.

Me neither, I was thoroughly impressed lol. I need to get a better system to keep fish out of my overflows. I am using drain stops right now with 2mm thick holes that fit snugly into the pvc. somehow my fire eel (about 12") managed to get into them still and some fish can still get caught in the suction.

Chuck norris was on her side!!!! Nothing special.....

When my Oscar was 1-2 month juvenile he jumped into the overflow then went down my .5" drain and when I opened the first drawer of my w/d sump he was just laying there on top of my pot scrubbie mechanical filtration in my first drawer. Took him out and put him into the tank and to this day he's a good TL 6" now and is healthy as ever. Crazy fish, lol.

Giant danios have the shortest life span of any fish in my tank.:naughty:
