So recently my gold giant danios have begun swimming up the filter flow of my AQ70 and my AQ110 into the filter baskets. At first it was just one particular fish swimming into the aq70, now I find different fish in both filters multiple times daily (and have to hand scoop them out). This has even included my 3.5" male convict swimming up the filter flow into my AQ70 (it's an old model, still called an AQ300). I don't believe it's detrimental to their health but it does get annoying scooping them out of my filters

Thoughts on how to prevent this? I know that giant danios love current (3 AQs on full blast on my 55) but would love to know how to stop them from hanging out in the filters

find something to put in front of the filter so they cant swim in it. i dont know what that filter looks like

Add a sponge prefilter over the strainer

You could also add a piece of eggcrate so that when they try to go up, the egg crate will be like a wall.

easy thing is lower your water level a bit, i keep polypterus in my 75 so i always keep the water down a couple inches anyways but ive never had any problems with giant danios getting in to my dual AC110s
