Giant emperor cichlid

Anybody ever kept giant emperor cichlid? I would like to know there growth rate?

used to have 3 i ended up getting rid of them, their growth was disappointingly slow.

I've kept several and growth was very fast 2-3" a month. Amazing cichild. If you have the room go for it.

That's the first time I seen them for sale down here at the lfs for 14.99 each around 1 1/2 inch y'all think it's worth it?

that's a fair price,but are you equipped for such fish? They do grow really fast and get extremely large.The largest,so if you don't have the space for 'em-don't get 'em,or they will be stunted.at the very minumum-150gallons and at least 6ft.this is a starter tank for these!
